PASTOR'S PEN

From the desk of Pastor Paul

I’ve been on “memory lane” this morning—remembering people and places from my childhood and reflecting on God’s goodness. It’s prompted some honest questions: Do I tend to remember what went wrong, or what God has done?

As I’ve reflected, I’ve recognized ways my generational and immediate family sometimes made Jesus seem smaller than He truly is. And how we remember matters—because memory shapes identity. Faith grows when we intentionally recall God’s intervention, but fear and limitation grow when we dwell on past pain without God’s perspective.

As I’ve prayed through this, three words have come to mind: repentance, revelation, and redemption. Unredeemed memories can become strongholds; redeemed memories become testimonies.

What changes everything is how we revisit the past. When we view it through the lens of Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose,” even the painful parts begin to take on new meaning.

When we look at our past through faith, even the hard things are transformed into testimony. And every testimony becomes an identity anchor—shaping how we see ourselves and how we step into the future.

WHAT'S HAPPENING!

Penny Laird and Marietta Wright have collaborated on a new book titled The Gift.

In this small but powerful book, Penny writes from the Father’s heart about what it cost to send the gift of Jesus, while Marietta beautifully illustrates the story.

This book is also especially effective for children. Pick up your copy on Amazon today.

Not Built on Ambition, But on Assignment

We’re not building this building out of ambition, but out of assignment. We believe God has called us to something bigger than ourselves, something that will impact lives far beyond this generation. Because of that, we’re not relying on our own strength or ideas. We’re saying “yes” to what He has asked of us and trusting that He will provide every step of the way.

There is still much ahead. We have resources to raise, prayers to pray, and people to bring along with us. But when something is truly from God, it comes with His authority. We’re not asking Him to bless our plan, we’re aligning ourselves with His.

As you watch this message, we invite you to lean in, pray with us, and ask how God is calling you to be part of what He is building here at Grace.
