PASTOR'S PEN
From the desk of Pastor Paul

The context of Nehemiah 1:9 is that Israel had been in exile, but God was using Nehemiah to restore what had been broken—both spiritually and physically. The Lord says to Nehemiah, “But if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place where I have chosen to have My name dwell.”
I was up early one morning praying, feeling the weight of the project we have undertaken, and the Lord had repeatedly said, “Read Nehemiah.” I went out and stood in the dawn’s early light, standing in the building being constructed, and I believe the Lord spoke those same words: “This is the place where I have chosen to have My name dwell.”
What does this mean? It is not only a place where God feels at home. It is about forming a people who: carry His presence, who represent Him accurately and walk in the environment of His presence in such a way that others encounter Him.
He has been increasingly dwelling with us, and we will carry that into the new space He is building through us for His name to dwell.
