Let Faith Arise: When God Calls You to What Feels Impossible

The Lord has recently led me to spend focused time in the book of Nehemiah. As I came to chapter 6, it became clear why.

What I read wasn’t just history—it was a mirror. It revealed the enemy’s strategy in Nehemiah’s day… and it explained much of what I’ve experienced over the past few weeks.
God, You are so good.
The Enemy’s Strategy Hasn’t Changed
In Nehemiah 6:9, we see a clear picture of how the enemy works:
“They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, ‘Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.’”
The goal was simple: discourage the people by magnifying the size of the task.
Make it feel too big. Too overwhelming. Too impossible.
And if that works, the work stops.
That strategy hasn’t changed.
The enemy still whispers:
“This is too much.”
“You can’t do this.”
“You’re not enough.”
Nehemiah’s Response
Nehemiah didn’t argue. He didn’t retreat.
He prayed:
“Now strengthen my hands.”
Simple. Direct. Dependent on God.

He didn’t ask for a smaller assignment. He asked for greater strength.
God Finishes What He Starts
Despite opposition, pressure, and intimidation, the work was completed.
And when it was finished, something powerful happened:
“All the surrounding nations were afraid… and they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” (Nehemiah 6:16)
The outcome wasn’t just a rebuilt wall.
It was a testimony.
Everyone could see—God was in it.
A Word for Right Now
There are always voices:
Some say it shouldn’t be done.
Some say it can’t be done.
But God says:
“With My help, it must be done—for My glory.”
Let Faith Arise
If what’s in front of you feels bigger than you, you’re probably right where God wants you.
Don’t shrink the assignment.
Ask God to strengthen your hands.
And keep building.
Let faith arise.
