Pastors Pen
I remarked to Marlyce, and Marietta and David Wright (with us for the weekend) that this was my favorite Resurrection weekend in all my years in ministry. Wow! What a weekend it was. So when I saw Stephanie Berglund’s post – it captured exactly what I was feeling, so I asked her if I could include it here;
From Stephanie (whose team lead us through amazing worship this weekend):
“Maybe my favorite Easter weekend ever!
It started with a great community Good Friday service, pondering what Jesus prayed for His followers right before He went to the cross and worshiping Him with beautiful music, then ending with singing His blessing to each other no matter what church you were a part of!
Then what has become a family favorite – Friday night family communion with Pastor Paul. One of the things he said to us has quickly become a mantra in our house.
A fantastic Saturday evening service where we went through the three extra “just in case we need them” songs plus we sang 2 songs twice because people just wanted to stay in the presence of God worshiping and celebrating the empty tomb while many knelt at the front surrendering parts of their lives they had been holding back from God.
An awesome sunrise service at the new Cemetery Creek Campus of Grace Fellowship where 85 people came out to celebrate and sing despite the cold 40 mph wind gusts! What a great first service to have at the new property!
Ending with another great celebration at our 9:00 Sunday service again going through all the extra music and staying longer in the atmosphere of celebration and thanksgiving!
Best of all, throughout the weekend, the angels in heaven were rejoicing over numerous people who received salvation through Jesus Christ – the Way, the Truth, the Life!! Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life!! I hope your weekend was full of Him!”
I couldn’t have said it better. I have to ashamedly admit with 40 mph winds I was expecting about 15 for the Sunrise Service….wow 85 gathered around the cross at the Cemetery Creek Campus. I don’t know when I have been so moved. No wonder Holy Spirit lead me to speak on the subject of “Spiritual Winds” He certainly has a sense of humor.
This is the kind of weekend of blessing, favor, and miracles we can build on. I absolutely love serving with you all at Grace.
