I was sitting in the parking lot of the Pharmacy Shop yesterday, and the Christmas lights must have been malfunctioning because a repairman with a ladder was going from strand to strand trying to find the problem.
It reminded me that Christmas is a good time for a little light maintenance. How is your light shining? Are there days when your light shines brighter than others? Is there something short-circuiting the whole strand? Are some not-so-great attitudes shining brighter than your light?
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 5:14–16 (The Message):
You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
Do a little conscious light maintenance—get untangled and plugged in—and may your light have the warm glow of Christmas that draws others from dark places into the light of Christ.
Can’t wait to be with you this weekend.

Building Update,
There is a lot of activity at 148 Cemetery Rd. as piers for the foundation are being dug.
Update on the property that is for sale:
The property has been listed for sale. Feel free to pass on any leads to us.
Dirt is being removed from the front of the property near Fort Street, it has been determined that front can accommodate several commercial lots.
Year-end giving- check with your tax professional. There may be advantages to giving in 2025 compared to 2026 for some.
