Grace Happenings | May 10, 2022

Pastors Pen

I am excited to continue our series, “I Need a Miracle!” I believe the Lord is clearly saying the miracle that many people need is to break free from one of Satan’s main weapons. That weapon against the Body of Christ is shame.  Hebrews 12:2 says that “Jesus despised shame.” At the cross, they tried to pin shame on Him, and He scorned it, rejected it, and despised it. He hated it then and He hates it now because of what it does to us. Shame causes us to be ashamed and hold our heads down low, not in humility, but in reproach.

It was interesting that before Israel could take on Jericho they had to have their shame rolled off their lives. Joshua 5:9 NLT says, “Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt.’” The shame that was rolled off Israel was not even something they had done, it was something they had inherited from their forefathers, a slavery and poverty mentality.

I love the fact that just as the Lord rolled the shame off of Israel, He will roll off any shame that has attached itself to our lives as well.

Looking forward to an amazing weekend with baptisms and the presence of the Lord.
