Every Piece Matters

I am often drawn to beautiful pictures on the front of a rectangular-shaped box. The picture has such beauty that it could easily be framed, but then I notice the small emblem that says, “500 pieces.”

Ah, a jigsaw puzzle.
Inside are 500 pieces, each necessary to complete the beautiful picture on the front. No single piece reveals the full image, yet every piece matters because each one carries part of the final picture.
A building project is much the same way.
Long before the project is complete, countless pieces must come together.
Some pieces are highly visible, while others remain hidden beneath the surface. Still, every one of them matters.
A project like this is built as each person brings what God has entrusted to them.
Prayer matters.
Encouragement matters.
Serving matters.
Giving matters.
Faithfulness matters.
Sacrifice matters.
Every act of obedience becomes part of the larger picture God is assembling.
No puzzle is completed by focusing on one piece. It comes together when every piece finds its proper place.

As we work to finish this building project well, it is important to remember that this is about more than construction. We are building a place for ministry, worship, discipleship, healing, and generations yet to come. And every person has a part in that story.
Some may give substantially, others less; the amount does not matter. Others may pray faithfully. Some may serve quietly behind the scenes. Others may encourage when weariness sets in.
The beautiful thing about a puzzle is that when one piece is missing, you notice it. The picture is not complete without it. The same is true in the body of Christ.
God has uniquely placed gifts, resources, encouragement, and purpose within each person. When we all bring our piece, the picture begins to come together in a way that reflects His glory and His faithfulness.
As we continue moving forward together, may we remember this: no role is too small, no gift is insignificant, and no act of obedience goes unnoticed by God.
Every piece matters.
