Pastor's Pen
From the desk of
Pastor Paul
Just prior to the time when Germany invaded Poland at the start of World War 11. German Pastor and author, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, wrote in his book Life Together (a call for the German Christians to stand together in community in 1939), wrote; Let him who is not in community beware of being alone. Into the community you were called, the call was not meant for you alone; in the community of the called you bear your cross, your struggle, your prayer. The times in which we are living are a call for believers to connect and not go it alone.
We were born to connect, not just in times of adversity but in times of prosperity. My prayer is as we prepare to connect in Home Teams that God will transform us more and more into a Christlike community. Perhaps your experience will be like this person who wrote about her Home Team: “Because of my small group, I’m more open to others and care more about their concerns. I find myself talking to God more and praying for others more often. This has definitely drawn me closer to God. Groups can make you feel like you belong to the family of God,” (from Transformational Groups).
Be praying about whether you could facilitate a Home Team
Be praying about what Home Team you should be in community with.
Exciting days are ahead, and we expand our horizons through Home Teams.
I’ll see you this weekend for a key message in the series “Renewed Mind – Restful Soul”

Family Night ends November 19 and will be replaced with Home Teams starting in January. If you are interested in either hosting or leading a home team, Pastor Paul can’t wait to talk to you.
