Protecting Ourselves from Disappointment
Read Romans 8:28 with fresh eyes: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 NIV)
Check it out in the Philips Translation: "Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to His plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good. God, in His foreknowledge, chose them to bear the family likeness of His Son, that He might be the eldest of a family of many brothers. He chose them long ago; when the time came, He called them, He made them righteous in His sight, and then lifted them to the splendor of life as His own sons."
Believing Romans 8:28 means we never embrace what feels like the absence of hope. Beloved believer, hold on to hope! Hold on to the “all things” of Romans 8:28! Hold on to the fact that God is good all the time. Hope is the soil that faith grows in.
When we start doubting the “in all things,” we are seeking to protect ourselves from disappointment. And when we try to protect ourselves from disappointment, we are giving way to unbelief. Sure, we will be disappointed at some point in our humanness, but as believers, we are never without hope. We can trust that God will turn the worst situations into good!

Equip 2024 - "But the Church Prayed"
Get a Head Start:
One of the seminars this year is "Destined for the Throne'" based on the book by the same name written by Paul Billhiemer. It would be helpful to have read the book prior to taking the class. Pastor Paul says, "Destined for the Throne" is one of the most influential books in his life.
If you want to get a head start on Equip, we have loaner books at the Information Table in the foyer. Leave your name to check it out, read it, and bring it back no later than one month.

Our architect is finalizing some redesigns, adjusting square footage, and ensuring the overall project moves into great financial feasibility. Within the next month, we expect to receive new bids for the building, which will guide our next steps. We are grateful for God's blessings; last month, we received $10,919 in interest from building fund investments, bringing our current balance to $3,125,567. Let's continue to pray, obey, and witness God's work!
