Pastor’s Pen
God didn’t just call us to a decision, He called us to be Christ followers, disciples. The core work of a disciple is to be like the Master. Romans 8:29 says, “He choose us to be like His Son.” So, for me to be like Jesus I need to start walking according to who I am in Him. I like what Francis Frangipane said, “as each of us matures, we must stop thinking of ourselves merely as ‘church people’ and more as a society of redeemers. For that is what we become as we are conformed to the heart of Jesus.”
Philippians 2:5 (NKJV) Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. I like the way the ESV translates it, “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus”. When we have the mind of Christ, we will not view life with the graceless mind of a faultfinder, but with the gracious and compassionate mind of the Savior.
I am excited as we begin a new series of talks this weekend entitled Stand Firm. How can we walk in such a way in a windy world where we do not lose our footing?
Can’t wait to see you this weekend.
Raised to Life t-shirts will be available to purchase in the foyer of the church.
This is the last weekend they will be available.
Moms in Prayer International meets on Thursdays @ 8:10 at GF. We focus on an attribute of God and simply pray for our kids, and teachers. If you don’t feel comfortable praying out loud you don’t have to. Just come and agree in prayer.
Our next Find Your People will be September 18.
We would love to see you there.
