Grace Happenings | November 16, 2021

Pastor’s Pen

I have been chewing on the words of the prophet Haggai (I hope you will read this amazing two-chapter book soon). It has much to do with the building and rebuilding of the House of God and the planting of seeds. Perhaps Haggai has caught my attention as Marlyce and I have been praying over seed we want to personally sow in the future of Grace Fellowship and the Kingdom of God. It is exciting to think about sowing seeds into a generation we may never personally meet this side of heaven.

Here are some verses that I am drawn to from the prophet Haggai:

Haggai 1:7-8

This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build My house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord. My prayer is that God will be honored in every way as we look toward the future.

Haggai 2:9

‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place, I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” The other day I had the privilege of walking on the potential new property on Cemetery and Main Street, there was a deep sense of peace. May all who set their feet on this property both now and in the future have a sense of God’s peace.

Haggai 2:19

Is there yet any seed left in the barn? Until now, the vine and the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not borne fruit. “‘From this day on I will bless you.’”

Remember you can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed.

  1. Be in prayer for the City Planning meeting in consideration of our application for a Special Use permit to build, the House of the Lord.

  2. Be in prayer as we seek to sow seed December 11-12 in the good ground that it will be multiplied.

I am so excited to share the word with you this coming weekend, from Daniel 9 a teaching entitled “Flip the Script”

Grace Fellowship Property Relocation-

Grace Fellowship is under contract for 5.5 acres on the corner of Main Street and Cemetery Road (diagonal from the High School).

The Building Fund balance is $324,911. We will be able to pay cash for the property when the sale is expected to finalize later this year. Paying cash will deplete our Building Fund, so we have a weekend where everyone of us is encouraged to plant some financial seed, (no matter how small) into the Building Fund-December 11-12.  As we plant seed we will expect and watch it grow. We can count the seeds in an apple but only God can count the apples in a seed.

Newer at GF-

If you are newer at Grace Fellowship we will be offering a Grow With Grace class! Grow With Grace is a next step class of learning what we believe, our history, and how you can better be a functioning part of the Body of Christ here. Grow With Grace will be a 90-minute class Saturday, December 4 at 9:30 am.  This class is by reservation so please let us know you are coming either through a Connection Card or by calling into the office at 307-684-7511.
