Pastor’s Pen
I love the story where Jesus appears to the two followers after His resurrection on the road to Emmaus. In Luke 24, 32 the men who now recognized Jesus said, they asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” It is also interesting that their eyes were not opened until He took the bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them, vs. 30.
As we enter these days of Holy Week, one of the primary ways He opens our eyes and ears is through the Scripture. We come face to face with God in the Scripture and in worship as in no other way. My heart longs, that each time we meet we come with our Bibles ready and our hearts prepared to see and to hear, as God’s Spirit opens the Scriptures to us.
Whether you are traveling on Spring Break or here at GF this weekend! Let’s celebrate that we serve a mighty and living God. Can’t wait to share with you the last in the series of Discovering Your Destiny and Purpose a message entitled When a Detour is your Destiny.
