Last week we taught on ways we get offended at God. Continuing in that thought, I would like to suggest that disappointment is not a sin, it is a wounding. Disappointment occurs when we put our hope in an answer instead of in Him.
When you place your hope in God things may not turn out as you hope but there is no disappointment in Jesus. There will always be disappointment in circumstances and in other people. Romans 5:5 (NLT) says, And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.
Sometimes our disappointments grow bigger in our minds than God. So, bring your disappointments to God and allow Him to show you His love, His plan and His promise that He will never leave you or forsake you or fail you!
We are experiencing a wonderful Community VBS with Marcy Schueler and Scott Berglund! In the meantime I can’t wait to see you this weekend to share the message God has very specifically placed on my heart.
