Grace Happenings | June 22, 2023

Pastor’s Pen

Last week I suggested that Jesus not only died for us, He died as us. In other words, He died in our place. Check out 2 Corinthians 5:21 “God made Him Who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

He died in our place so that we could experience resurrection power and newness of life. Why live in the old, when a “brand spankin’ new” life is promised? When you make newness a way of life, your identity is in Jesus only, not in your performance. If our identity is in Jesus, when the Father looks at us He sees Jesus’ righteousness. I love Isaiah 61:10 “Delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of His righteousness.”

Here is what I want to encourage you to chew on this week. Because my identity is in Jesus and I am clothed in His righteousness, the Father sees me as complete.

When the Father sees you as complete in Jesus so His heart toward you will never change.

Can’t wait to see the amazing Grace family this weekend! Can’t wait to see what Holy Spirit has in store.
