Pastors Pen
This last weekend we were privileged to have Matthew Schlicting share a message where we talked about our lives being Christ’s home. Matthew did a great job.
I have been refreshed recently through Psalm 91 (the second most read Psalm, after Psalm 23). It starts out, Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
I have been asking the Lord, how can I better “dwell” in Your presence. The word “dwell” means to make “your house, your abode, to pitch your tent” of all that you are in God’s presence. I believe that God is saying, “trust me in every detail of your life.” To dwell means to focus your energy and mind on trusting and thanking God, being conscious of His presence. I am not dwelling when I get nervous and take things into my own hands, but when I allow the presence and peace of God to settle over my heart.
Nothing is wasted when we walk close to the Lord. Even our mistakes and sins can be recycled into something good through His transforming grace and presence. How good it is to dwell in the presence of the Lord.
God’s Provision Continues
This last weekend Carol Herman and a team of folks from Grace hosted a garage sale that included new items that had been donated for the purpose of our building fund. When all of the dust settled and all of the many eager garage salers left the building and the weary volunteers completed the clean up the total donated was $5,751.02 plus a button and a screwdriver tip.
