Grace Happenings | July 21, 2021

Pastor’s Pen

We need to be careful putting our hope in answers instead of Him.

In examining my heart there are times (I hate to admit) that reading the Word is a little bit like taking medicine because I need to; instead of reading it with a deep and joyful hunger to know the God of the Bible better. The prayer of my heart (I invite you to join me in) is: Lord, place in me a hunger that can only be satisfied by You. May God give us a passion for worship and for His word that can only be satisfied by His presence.

I want such passion for God that if I miss time with Him (and yes I sometimes do) that I struggle with my unsatisfied spiritual hunger rather than the guilt of having forgotten to take my medicine.

Can’t wait to worship and share the Word with you this weekend.

Grace Fellowship Announces a Congregational Vote

Grace Fellowship is under contract to purchase 5.5 acres on the corner of Main Street/By-Pass (Just one block north of the High School on the opposite side of the street) and Cemetery Road. The terms of the purchase are a cash offer of $300,000 with a closing date on or before October 15, 2021. There is currently $298,052 in our Building Fund to make this purchase.

Here are the contingencies to be met before moving ahead:

  1. Majority vote of Grace Fellowship Congregation.

  2. Engineering geo soil testing to determine buildability of the property.

  3. Conditional Use Permit granted to Grace Fellowship by the City of Buffalo, Wyoming.

  4. Successful easement granted for access off of Cemetery Road.

The Feasibility Team of Rob Schlicting, Casey Friese, Randy Longnecker, Anna Buckingham, Skip Crawford, and Cristy Kinghorn recommended this property to the Elders who are in turn bringing it to the Grace Fellowship family. This is a unanimous recommendation.

July 24-August 2 are the dates set for the Grace Fellowship family to express themselves on this matter by a ballot vote. Members, as well as regular attenders, are encouraged to vote – (There will be a table set up where you can receive a ballot to express your vote).

Should you have questions, either the Feasibility Team or the Elder Board stand ready to answer them.
