Pastor's Pen

From the desk of

Pastor Paul

Wow, wow, wow! What a fresh word God brought to us through Michael Maynard this last weekend. If you haven’t heard it, head to YouTube and give it an open-hearted listen.

“Metanoia” is a change of thinking that really starts with a change of identity, which brought these thoughts to my mind that I want to share with you today.

It is okay to remember what you were, provided you don’t let what you were determine who you are. If you have that old mindset, you are going to act out of the old mindset.

God is not in two minds about you! Check out Romans 8:1.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

There is a difference between our situation and our standing. Our situation is often how we see ourselves outside of Christ. We see ourselves as weak or powerless or, in the case of the 10 spies, as grasshoppers. Their thinking was so destructive that it took them to a place where they couldn’t inherit the promises of God. Our standing is who we are through our relationship with Jesus. So, we often see things from our situation rather than our standing. Your standing is your confession of all that God is for you and wants to be for you. So, this week, stand strong in your situation.

And I’ll see you at Gather 25!
