Pastors Pen
From the desk of Pastor Paul
Have you ever noticed how difficult it can be to let go of control? We often grip tightly to our plans, our possessions, and our ways of doing things. Yet, some of life's most profound moments come when we simply surrender. Consider Peter's encounter with Jesus at the Sea of Galilee. When Jesus stepped into Peter's boat without asking, Peter had a choice to make. He could have protested and yelled, “get outta my boat.” Instead, he chose to allow his boat to be the pulpit for the Word. This simple act of surrender opened the door to a miracle that would change his life forever. "When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, 'Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.'" - Luke 5:4
In our own lives, surrender might look different. It could mean letting go of a cherished plan, trusting God with a relationship, or stepping out in faith when we'd rather stay comfortable. The beauty of surrender is it creates space for God to work in ways we never imagined possible.
Lord, help me loosen my grip on the things I hold too tightly. Give me the courage to surrender fully to Your perfect plan, even when it feels uncomfortable. Thank you for being trustworthy with every area of my life. Amen.
