Hey kids!
Let's talk about something really special called "honor." Do you know what it means to honor someone?
It means showing them respect and treating them as important. The Bible has a lot to say about honor, and it's something God wants us to practice every day.
One of the Ten Commandments tells us to "Honor your father and mother"; (Exodus 20:12). This means we should respect our parents, listen to them, and obey them because they love us and want what's best for us. When we honor our parents, we're also showing honor to God.
Another great example of honor in the Bible is Jesus. Jesus always honored God, His Father, by obeying Him and showing love and kindness to others. Even when it was hard, Jesus chose to do the right thing and honor God.
Honoring others means treating them the way we want to be treated. It means saying "please" and "thank you," listening when someone is talking, and being kind and helpful. When we honor others, we're following Jesus' example and making the world a better place.
Remember, honor isn't just something we show to people who are older than us. We can honor our friends, teachers, and even people we don't know. Every time we show respect and kindness, we're honoring God, too.
So let's make a choice every day to honor our parents, our friends, our teachers, and everyone we meet. By doing this, we can spread God's love and make the world a brighter place!
Isn't that wonderful? Let's all try to honor others and show God's love wherever we go!
In Christ,
